“The landscaping design will be one of the most striking elements of the completed project that best represent its spirit.” – Herman Salm
The ground level of the houses invites the mesmerizing view of the Bosphorus into daily life. Inspired by the past, a landscaping project that integrates nature back into our lives: “luminous forest”. At first sight, Birch (Betula Utilis) and Pine (Pinus Pinea), two of the limited species of trees, add a sensational and dominating character to the project. Katsura (a), Sweetgum (Liquidambar Styraciflua), Japanese Zelkova (Zelkova Serrata) and Canadian Serviceberry add various colors to the landscaping design.
“The distinctive features of the coastal buildings and mansions in the Bosphorus outline the main characteristics of Nef buildings.” Emre Arolat
In its DNA, the project has structural connections to the Bosphorus on a small scale and to Istanbul at large. The distinctive features of the waterside buildings and mansions of the Bosphorus make up the defining characteristics of these houses.
The design language of a few centuries ago is translated into the modern context. Stories under the shade of large eaves, corbels that take shape in harmony with slopes and that enhance the visual perspective, framework system that makes up the façade design and a peaceful approach to the topography creates a unique character.
The soft atmosphere created by the amalgamation of different colors of soil and the soft texture of natural wood. The unique feel of nature in every touch. Continuous transparent surfaces invite the outside in. The design language on the side façades fuses with the natural stone texture stretching from the soil to the outer walls, creating its own unique expression.
